The Birth of EFL

Founder – Hayley Wilson

Hayley is passionate about working with Women not only for weight loss and fitness but also with women who specifically want to prepare for pregnancy, during pregnancy and after childbirth by conditioning the body through all 3 phases of the childbirth cycle.

Hayley came to this path through her own experiences with Obesity, Depression and overcoming the challenges that were holding her back from living the life to her greatest potential. The Birth of EFL

As a young woman and mother in Brisbane Hayley struggled to find trustworthy, reliable and credible health and fitness services to prepare her body for pregnancy, maintain an active lifestyle during pregnancy or regain her pre-baby strength after childbirth, this coupled with her personal passion for health and fitness has lead Hayley to create Empowered for life.

Since opening, EFL has expanded to embrace all forms of Mentors within the community. Hayley believes in order to strengthen and inspire the next generation we need to Empower and support each other, it is for that reason that EFL has opened the doors to the husband’s, partner’s sons and daughters of the women she is so dedicated to helping.

The EFL Difference

Through the birth of EFL Hayley has been able to identify and fill the following needs

  • Until now there was an obvious gap and need in the market place for Health and fitness for Mothers and Mother-to-be in Brisbane
  • Incorrect management of rehabilitation after childbirth – often women are discharged from hospital with little or no understanding of what their body may or may not be capable of after pregnancy and birth. Very few are aware of what a Diastasis is, if they have one, or what rehabilitation is required to repair the separation.
  • Within the Fitness industry and Health Sector there is a lack of resources for pregnancy fitness and few guidelines on safe and progressive exercise resulting in women refraining from exercising during pregnancy as they are unsure and rather frightened of doing harm to themselves or their baby.
  • Lots of “weight loss opportunities” but nothing that can correctly condition a woman’s body for pregnancy or repair the damage that was done during pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Although many Gym’s offer a Crèche’, they rarely take children under 6 months of age and often Mother’s feel reserved about leaving their children  in a Crèche’ environment that is separated from where they will be working out.  Being able to provide a private onsite Nanny service the Mother’s attending Empowered for Life can train from 6 weeks after birth as we cater for children of all ages and the Nanny and children remain in the same room as the Mother’s as they work out. This allows Mother’s both a sense of security for their children and freedom for themselves.
